4th of July

Flea Market

4th of July weekend is all about picnics, sing-a-longs and fireworks. The Wet Mountain Valley has all of this and more. In the cool of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, you can browse through the over 40 vendors at the Flea Market. The Market is open Friday, July 4th from 9am – 3pm, and Saturday, July 5th from 9am – 2pm at the west end of Main St. in Westcliffe. 



Car Show

In conjunction with the flea market, on July 4th this year the Chamber of Commerce is adding its Fifth Annual Sangre de Cristo Car & Motorcycle Show. Cars will line Main Street for your inspection. Then from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. the annual Ice Cream Social and Patriotic sing-a-long will take place in the historic Old Westcliffe Schoolhouse. Also, our local restaurants are all available with a variety of menus to satisfy your summer appetites. Shopping, hiking, fishing are just a few of the activities available to fill the hours till dusk, when the fireworks begin.

At dusk Lake DeWeese transforms into a blaze of light and color as the Firemen of the Wet Mountain Valley Fire District light up the skies of Custer County.
